Who provides the legal services

Legal services offered through this website are provided by Sadik Bugra Isler, a solicitor of England and Wales.

  • Legal status: an individual, self-employed solicitor practising in his own name. I am not a company or partnership and I do not employ staff.
  • Address: 2 Victoria Square, St Albans, AL1 3TF, United Kingdom (meetings by appointment only)
  • Email: info@sadikbugra.com

sadikbugra.com is simply my website address. It is not a separate firm or trading name.

How I am regulated

I am a solicitor personally regulated by the Solicitors Regulation Authority (SRA). My SRA number is 814180. You can check my entry on the SRA register.

I practise as a freelance solicitor. This means I am not an SRA-authorised firm, and I do not display the SRA's digital badge, which is only for authorised firms. I am bound by the SRA's professional rules, including the SRA Principles and the SRA Code of Conduct for Solicitors, RELs, RFLs and RSLs. You can read these at SRA Standards and Regulations.

The professional title "solicitor" was conferred in England and Wales.

Any work I do for other organisations is separate from this practice. Those organisations do not provide, supervise or insure the services I offer through this website.

Professional indemnity insurance

I hold professional indemnity insurance for my freelance practice. Because I am a freelance solicitor, my insurance is not required to meet, and does not meet, the SRA Minimum Terms and Conditions that apply to the insurance of SRA-authorised firms. Alternative insurance arrangements are in place instead.

  • Insurer: Bridgehaven Specialty (UK) Ltd
  • Insurance broker and contact for the policy: PLB Professional Indemnity, International House, 36-38 Cornhill, London, EC3V 3NG; mail@plb.insure; www.plb.insure
  • Territorial coverage: United Kingdom

Further details of the cover are available on request. I will also confirm the position in writing before you instruct me.

SRA Compensation Fund

The SRA Compensation Fund is a discretionary fund of last resort. Clients of a freelance solicitor who practises in his own name, as I do, may be able to apply to the Fund if they have lost money because of the solicitor's dishonesty or a failure to account for money they have received.

The Fund does not cover losses caused only by negligence. Eligibility rules apply: for example, businesses and some other organisations can only apply if their annual turnover or assets are below £2 million. Applications must normally be made within 12 months of when you became aware, or should reasonably have become aware, of the loss. More information is available from the SRA.

Client money

I do not hold client money and I do not operate a client account. I do not take payments on account. Disbursements, such as court fees, are paid by you directly to the court or other third party.

Please be alert to fraud. I will never change my payment details by email. If you receive a message that appears to come from me asking you to pay money to a new account, do not act on it; contact me first using a method you already know is genuine.

VAT

I am not currently registered for VAT and do not charge VAT. If I register in future, VAT will be added only where applicable, and I will tell clients before it applies.

Complaints

If you are unhappy with my service, please see my complaints procedure. It explains how to complain to me, and when and how you can contact the Legal Ombudsman or report a concern to the SRA.

Fees

Information about my fees is on my fees page. The fees for your matter will be confirmed in writing before I start work.
