Website terms of use

Last reviewed 26 October 2026 by Sadik Bugra Isler

These terms apply to your use of the website at sadikbugra.com. By using the website you accept them. They do not apply to legal services: if I agree to act for you, the terms of that engagement will be set out separately in writing.

About this website

This website is operated by Sadik Bugra Isler, a solicitor of England and Wales practising as a freelance solicitor in his own name, of 2 Victoria Square, St Albans, AL1 3TF, United Kingdom. You can contact me at info@sadikbugra.com. Regulatory details are on the regulatory information page.

Information, not legal advice

The content of this website is general information about the law of England and Wales and about my services. It is not legal advice and does not take account of your circumstances. The law changes, and an article may not reflect changes made after the date it was last reviewed. You should not act, or decide not to act, on the basis of anything on this website without taking advice on your own situation.

No retainer from using the website or sending an enquiry

Using this website, sending me an enquiry by email, or having an initial discussion with me does not create a solicitor and client relationship, and does not mean I have agreed to act for you.

I can only act for you after I have completed my conflict and identity checks, confirmed that I can take on your matter, and sent you written confirmation of the scope of the work, my fees and my terms of engagement, which you have accepted.

Deadlines

Until I have confirmed in writing that I will act for you, I am not responsible for protecting any deadline, limitation period or time limit that applies to your matter. If your matter is urgent or you are aware of a deadline, please say so in your enquiry, but do not assume that I have received, read or accepted it. If a deadline is close, you should consider seeking advice elsewhere without delay.

Confidential information in enquiries

Please keep the information you send in an enquiry brief, and do not send documents or detailed confidential information until I have confirmed that I can act. I need to check for conflicts of interest before I can look at the detail of a matter, and I may already be acting for another party. I will treat what you send in confidence and handle it as described in my privacy notice.

Links to other websites

This website contains links to other websites, such as those of regulators, courts and public bodies. I include these for convenience. I do not control those websites and am not responsible for their content or how they handle your information.

Availability of the website

I aim to keep the website available and accurate, but I do not guarantee that it will always be available, uninterrupted or free from errors. I may change or withdraw content at any time.

Intellectual property

Unless otherwise stated, the content of this website is owned by Sadik Bugra Isler. You may view, print or download content for your own personal or internal business use. You must not reproduce it for commercial purposes without my written permission. Legislation and public sector information linked from this website remain subject to their own licences.

Liability for use of the website

These terms concern your use of the website only. To the extent the law allows, I am not liable for any loss arising from reliance on the general information on this website or from the website being unavailable.

Nothing in these terms excludes or limits any liability that cannot be excluded or limited by law, including liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence, or for fraud or fraudulent misrepresentation. Nothing in these terms affects your legal rights as a consumer, or my responsibilities to clients under an engagement, which are governed by the engagement terms.

Acceptable use

You must not use the website to send unlawful, abusive or malicious content, to try to gain unauthorised access to any system, or to interfere with the operation of the website.

Privacy and cookies

My privacy notice explains how I use personal information. My cookies page explains that the public website does not set cookies.

Governing law

These terms are governed by the law of England and Wales. The courts of England and Wales have jurisdiction over any dispute about them. If you are a consumer living in Scotland or Northern Ireland, you may also bring proceedings in the courts where you live.

Changes to these terms

I may update these terms from time to time. The version on this page at the time you use the website applies.
